How Well Can Companies Manage Airline Fees?

So I've been asking some more nosy questions about how well companies are managing travel. This time we are looking at airline fees that have been unbundled from base fares. The corporate travel industry is struggling to deal with them in a way that is a) standardized for data collection and tracking but b) individualized for airlines that may want to merchandise their services in unique ways. Delta, Northwest Aim To Unify Tech By Early Next Year

The integration of Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines has been ongoing for the better part of a year. Perhaps one of the trickier tasks (though maybe not as tricky as combining labor groups) now has a targeted finish line: Delta president Ed Bastian Wednesday said, "We are on schedule to complete our technology cut-over by the end of the first quarter of 2010."

Small Meetings Tools Advancing More Than You Think

There was an interesting article discussing small meetings technology in Procurement.travel called "Real-Time Meeting Booking Tools: Is Technology, Wherewithal There Yet?" The article noted several hotel brand online and other booking offerings, and I was glad to see StarCite's Small Meetings Solution mentioned as one of the enterprise solutions showing promise. 'Not There Yet' On People Cuts, Expedia Developing New Agent Desktop

CWT, Tech Vendor Settle Dispute

The lawsuit between Actuate and Carlson Wagonlit Travel has ended in a settlement, and a CWT spokesperson indicated that Actuate will continue as a technology vendor for CWT.
