World Travel Becomes First Travel Company To Join Privacy Shield Data Protection Framework

Travel management company World Travel has become the first business in the travel sector to appear on the U.S. government's list of companies that have joined the European Union-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. U.S. companies adhering to Privacy Shield self-certify they are transferring personal data of European Union citizens to the United States in compliance with EU law. TravelSolutions By Campbell Among TMCs Opening Up On Concur Integration

TravelSolutions by Campbell is among the first travel management companies to achieve certification for Concur's TripLink application programming interface. According to Mike Koetting, Concur senior vice president for TMC services, that API is "the mechanism that the TMC uses to get the open booking data from Concur, and once that agency has that data, they can develop their own version of an agent desktop, which they would use to display that information." Frosch, World Travel Post Highest TMC Organic Growth Rates Among BTN Research Participants

Most travel management companies participating in the ARC-verified program of sharing transaction and sales data with Business Travel News showed further growth in 2012, though rates slowed from recent years.
