Expedia to Use Less TRX

Expedia in the first quarter of next year will begin to reduce the number of transactions it processes with TRX, resulting in a reduction in TRX's 2009 revenue of between $10 million and $20 million and a "proportionate impact on earnings," TRX officials said.

Travelport Details Deepening GDS Segment Decline

Travelport GDS reported a second-quarter drop in total global distribution system segments of 9 percent year-over-year. In the first half of 2008, the firm's Galileo and Worldspan GDSs together handled 21 million fewer segments than a year earlier. The decline in bookings has since become more pronounced, according to Travelport CEO and president Jeff Clarke.
