With Deal Expired, Amadeus Faces AA Bookings Surcharge

American Airlines' icy relations with Sabre and Travelport are no secret. But what about the third-largest global distribution system in the United States? Things aren't going quite so smoothly between American and Amadeus, either. Their full-content agreement on Aug. 31 expired without a successor or extension, and the airline disclosed that "any Amadeus GDS product" now is subject to a $5.50 per-segment "Source Premium" surcharge.
