LinkedIn, which by all accounts is the most popular social network for business professionals, chose email itinerary service provider TripIt "as the only travel application in a new application platform designed to enrich the LinkedIn user experience," according to the companies. Directly linked to users' TripIt accounts, the new "My Travel by TripIt shows LinkedIn members where their entire professional network is traveling. Once the application is installed, users can create trips (on LinkedIn or on TripIt) and immediately see when those trips overlap with other people in their network."
A TripIt survey earlier this year found that LinkedIn was the most popular social service among TripIt users.
