AA Also Charging Agencies for 'Unproductive' Bookings

Matching competitors, American Airlines said it would begin charging agencies $3.50 per segment for "unproductive bookings" in global distribution systems, effective March 1. The carrier said it "may" issue debit memos for those fees--plus a $50 "administrative service fee"--when such "inactive segments" are not removed from passenger name records 24 hours before flight departure.
