AMR: No Plans To Dodge Agency, GDS Bills

American Airlines in bankruptcy plans to honor its travel agency and global distribution agreements, according to court documents filed this week that offer a rare public glimpse into the carrier's agreements with agents. Among other details, the documents show that a model in which the travel agency pays the airline's global distribution system bills--a setup that some have called the "wholesale model"--is still in play with American Express.
