Airlines Defend Multicity-Fare Changes, Deny Conspiracy In Federal Court

American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines separately asked a federal judge in California to deny a preliminary injunction requested by a group of travel agents that sued the airlines last month over fare-combination rules. The travel agents asked the court to prohibit the carriers from pricing multicity fares at a cost "greater than the sum of the combined non-refundable one-way fares for each leg of a passenger’s flight."
