Amadeus Buying Navitaire To Expand PSS Footprint With Low-Cost Carriers

Amadeus inked a deal to acquire Navitaire, the Accenture-owned passenger services system provider dominant in the low-cost carrier segment. The deal bulks up Amadeus' sizable position in airline reservations and passenger services and fortifies its competitive position against Sabre, as Amadeus gains a lower-end offering to complement its more sophisticated Altea suite for full-service carriers.
