American Airlines Asserts Data Control, Prohibits POS Shifting In New Agency Terms

Travel agencies that sell American Airlines will have to follow new requirements in the carrier's revised travel agency agreement, effective Jan. 4. Among changes, American will prohibit sales-location shifting and demand agencies disclose service fees separately from fares. American also is assuming greater control of its "proprietary" data and for the first time addresses corporate agency benchmarking in its blanket agency agreement.
