Analysts: 'If' Google-ITA Gets Done, OTAs Should Worry But Less Than Metasearchers

Several Wall Street analysts' first reactions to Google's proposed acquisition of ITA Software highlighted uncertainty about whether regulators would approve it. Google has acknowledged that it expects scrutiny and a long process. Its AdMob acquisition, completed in May, required a six-month review. The analysts' next reaction was that this is a serious threat to the likes of Kayak and also a threat, but less so, to online travel agencies.
