Carlson Wagonlit Travel named longtime American Express Business Travel executive Andrew Winterton to a new position including duties previously assigned to recently promoted North America COO Mike Koetting and Loren Brown, CWT's veteran CIO who will leave in July "to pursue new interests."
According to a CWT statement, Winterton is charged with "managing mutually beneficial relationships on behalf of CWT and its air, hotel, GDS and ground transportation suppliers," as well as the company's information technology and "product management organizations." Effective June 1, Winterton is president of suppliers, products and technology, based in the United Kingdom and reporting to CWT CEO Douglas Anderson. Winterton also serves on the company's global executive team.
Winterton resigned from American Express this spring after a nine-year stint, during which he held senior positions related to distribution, supplier relations and Latin America.
Anderson hailed Winterton as "a seasoned travel industry executive whose entrepreneurial spirit and global vision fit very well with our way of doing business."
Koetting also remains on CWT's global executive team. Before the June promotion to North America COO, he had served as executive vice president of global supplier management.
