DOT Delays Compliance Date For New Airline Bias Rule

The U.S. Department of Transportation will give travel agencies a couple more months to comply with a new regulation that prohibits undisclosed biasing of airlines in online shopping displays. The rule was set to take effect this week, but DOT cited extension requests by Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Airlines for America in its decision to shift the effective date to Feb. 15, 2017.
