DOT Requires Reporting But Rejects Distribution Concerns On CO-Star

Continental Airlines and its Star Alliance partners "will be expected to give a complete status report in their annual filings" on "sales and distribution issues" including "cooperation in sales and distribution and joint negotiations with travel agents," according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. DOT issued the order as part of an overall approval today of antitrust immunity for the expanded Star Alliance, including Continental, with carve outs on some international city pairs.
