Suggestions that the major global distribution systems have been engaged in illegal collusion have floated around for a while. There were references in the antitrust lawsuits American Airlines pursued against Sabre and Travelport and comments by airline representatives as the industry debated IATA's New Distribution Capability, not to mention the U.S. Department of Justice's seemingly dormant antitrust probe.
