Sabre-Lufthansa Deal Waives GDS Fees Through June 2009

Sabre Travel Network yesterday said agents using its system in Germany, Austria or Switzerland would be able to access all Lufthansa and Swiss fares without paying the fees that those airlines plan to apply to some global distribution system bookings. A Sabre executive today told The Beat that the firm's "extended" contract with Lufthansa provides fee protection for Sabre-connected agents through June 2009, assuming those Sabre users enroll in Lufthansa's and Swiss' "Preferred Fares" programs.
