Travelport To Start Hosting Japanese GDS Axess Oct. 1

Axess International Network, the Japanese global distribution system owned by Japan Airlines parent JAL Group, on Oct. 1 will begin cutting over to Travelport's platform. Claiming to account for 40 percent of tickets processed through the Japanese Billing and Settlement Plan, Axess will be hosted as a partition of Travelport's GDS in its Atlanta data center. The companies claimed that the migration plan laid out following the April 2012 partnership announcement is on schedule.
