United Puts Basic Economy On EDIFACT Chopping Block, Expands Continuous Pricing

United Airlines on Sept. 5 plans to remove Basic Economy fares for domestic U.S. and short-haul Latin America services from EDIFACT-connected global distribution system channels, according to a Wednesday memo. As with the airline's expanded adoption of continuous pricing, Basic Economy will be available solely through New Distribution Capability connections and United's own channels.
