Using XML, Big Chains Bypass Switch For GDS Connectivity

It's no surge, but a handful of hotel chains recently announced they were using XML to connect with global distribution systems. Accor Hospitality Group and Carlson Hotels Worldwide in May said they were doing this with Sabre Travel Network, Marriott International in June announced the same with Travelport--joining Accor and InterContinental Hotels Group in using XML to connect with Travelport's GDSs--and Amadeus last year made a related statement with Carlson.
