New Zealand-based corporate T&E technology provider Serko landed Carlson Wagonlit Travel as its first reseller of the Zeno travel booking and tech system in the U.S., the companies announced this month.
Qantas this week announced that a few partners have agreed to access content through its new Farelogix-powered application programming interface that is based on the International Air Transport Association's New Distribution Capability standard.
New Zealand-based corporate T&E technology provider Serko is establishing North American operations and named former NuTravel executive Rich Miller to lead the charge as general manager of U.S. market sales.
New Zealand-based corporate T&E tech provider Serko is bringing on corporate travel vet Tony D'Astolfo to lead its push in the U.S. and Canada. New Zealand-based corporate travel and expense technology provider Serko is reporting that its new Serko.travel platform has garnered early interest in launch markets Australia and New Zealand. CEO Darrin Grafton is plotting an expansion of the integrated travel management technology platform for small and midsize businesses to other markets, including the United States.
Serko experienced what CEO Darrin Grafton last week called an "extraordinary growth trajectory" during its fiscal year ending March 31. Yet, the delayed release of its mobile app, slower-than-expected expense system integration and a softening demand for custom-software development left the firm short of its revenue goals.
In 2012, three regionally dispersed booking tool providers banded together to take on what they called the "global" competitive set. The Mundi Global Alliance—United States-based nuTravel, France's KDS and New Zealand's Serko—formed to share sales leads, provide multinational client support and integrate technology, data and content. Now, as KDS pursues its own path, especially in the United States, the alliance is acting more like a party of two, based on characterizations by nuTravel and Serko.
Serko has been busy. The New Zealand-based corporate travel and expense system provider has claimed serious inroads in the Asia/Pacific region and a slowly growing global presence via an alliance with nuTravel and KDS.
Serko effective early next year will incorporate Routehappy flight ratings and amenity data in the booking path on its mobile app.
