If you read some press reports, travel agents are a dying breed, marginalized by new technologies. Many of our speakers would beg to differ, and instead insist that by using new technologies they are adding value.
Join us Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Miami at The Beat Live, where speakers representing no fewer than nine corporate travel management companies are scheduled to share their insights.
Of those, Travel Leaders Group chairman Michael Batt will be first up as he sits for The Interview, to be conducted by fellow U.K. native and long-time contributor to The BTN Group publications Amon Cohen. That will be followed by a panel discussion on TMC technology featuring Tower Travel Management president John Smith, Balboa Travel Management president and CEO Denise Jackson, Directravel chief technology officer Darryl Hoover and Mark Hollyhead, Egencia senior vice president in the Americas. Industry veteran Ellen Keszler will handle moderating duties. The last panel discussion of the conference will focus on TMC merchandizing and other revenue opportunities. To be moderated by The Beat's David Jonas, this session will feature Christopherson Business Travel CEO Mike Cameron, Short's Travel Management CEO David LeCompte, World Travel Inc. president Liz Mandarino and David Moran, executive vice president of marketing and enterprise strategy for Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
