The Beat here on Tuesday announced its annual Readers' Choice Award winners, with Delta Air Lines winning its first-ever award in the airline category. Readers also chose Delta as their most admired overall supplier, crowning the Atlanta-based airline The Beat's 2012 Supplier of the Year. American Express took home its fifth consecutive plaque as no competitor has ever won in the the payment system category.

Concur reclaimed its position as the most admired tech provider while Marriott again was named most admired hotel firm. Both had won their respective categories in 2008 and 2009. Carlson Wagonlit Travel won its third consecutive and fourth overall award for most admired travel management company. In the car rental category, Enterprise earned its third consecutive recognition as most admired supplier.

Presented during The Beat Live conference here, the awards were based on a poll conducted this summer that asked readers of The Beat to choose the company in each of the six supplier segments they "most admire for its policies, management style and service for business clients." Votes from respondents who chose their own companies were disqualified.
