Rearden Commerce today said it hired Paul Todd to serve as chief products officer. Todd most recently worked at Google as product management director, where he "was one of the key leaders in the $700 million acquisition of ITA Software," according to Rearden. [more]

At Google, Todd also was involved in travel advertising initiatives, including "a new hotel data and advertising model" and Google Comparison Ads, "which uses complex commercial data to create direct user offerings," Rearden added. Previously, Todd was a partner with McKinsey & Company and held management positions at ICI plc.

At Rearden, Todd is responsible for "defining and implementing the company's product strategy across all of its existing and emerging service areas."

Rearden a few weeks ago named former IBM executive Mark Biestman as president of global field operations, "responsible for expanding the sales organization to drive the company's long-term growth strategy."
